Taylor Fleming

Taylor Fleming, a 12 year old superstar, with a charming personality and natural singing talent, has “wowed” crowds since she was two years old.  She has performed in many local music shows, including the JCC music showcase, at local ballparks and many NC festivals and also the NC State Fair, opening for such stars as Josh Turner, Lee Ann Grimes and Little Big Town.  Taylor loves to bring smiles to those she performs for, and she hopes one day she will be traveling and singing with her own band.  In addition to singing, Taylor also enjoys acting, dancing, playing the guitar and violin, traveling, going to the beach, boating and being with her friends.  Find out more about this young star at her website: www.taylorfleming.com.

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Jim Quick & Coastline Band (Beach)

Mark Twain once said, "A Southerner talks music." If this is true, Coastline speaks in volumes. An eclectic blend of soul, blues, and rock has produced the sound known as Coastline. From hard driving Carolina back beats, to Georgia southern rock, from Cajun inspired grooves, to Texas and Delta blues; Coastline truly defines the sound of historical Southern music. With finesse, the pure forms of southern music are transformed into a modern contemporary art form.

Coastline is signed with Atlanta-based label, Landslide Records.  Their debut national release, Sweet ‘N’ Ripe, released in April of 2005 is a perfect collection of the nuances of the band. Over half of the album is original material written by the group, while the remainder of the album is comprised of rare material from legendary impressionable artists such as Hank Ballard, Lee Dorsey, and Jimmy Reed.
The buzz is on about Coastline. With their legions of fans known as Coastline Crazies, the band travels all over performing more than 300 shows per year. Teamed with management company, Green Dot Music, Coastline is one of the most sought after acts on the road today, staying booked over a year in advance. Coastline has rapidly become a staple in Americana music.  Learn more about this dynamic group on their website at:

Al Batten (Bluegrass)

Al Batten and the Bluegrass Reunion bring over 30 years of traditional bluegrass music to the festival.  The members of the band exhibit a strong dedication to family and community, which carries over to their music.
As bandleader and co-founder of the Bluegrass Reunion, Al Batten has proven true the concept that time, practice, and dedication are what it takes to master the 5-string banjo. The "3-T's" are his staples: Taste, Timing, and Tone and his lead singing is second to none.  David Turnage handles the guitar chores and is the band’s co-founder.  He and Al founded the Bluegrass Reunion in 1973 and have stuck together ever since.  They both make their home in Johnston County.
Other band members include Mike Aldridge who is considered one of the best traditional mandolin stylists in the nation today and fiddler Johnny Ridge who brings in the completing element to round out the unit.  A quiet man by nature, Phil Patterson lets his upright bass fiddle do the talking for him by holding down the bottom end and keeping the unit in time.  More information about this grand bluegrass band can be found on their website at:
